Seriously, just when things were starting to look like Khadr was *finaly* getting to see the case against him, this happens. What ever happened to due process, or rules of law? Now not all the blame is on the Americans here, Ottawa has let him sit in Gitmo for 6 years and hasn't petitioned the US once to extradite him to Canada.
I Still can't even grasp why he is being charged in the first place (for those unfamiliar with the case, he is accused of murdering a US solider in Afghanistan in 2002 when he was 15[child solider much?]), If is to be charge with murder then the US can't see him as a solider and then he should be in civilian courts and not in Gitmo. In that case it would be in Afganistan where the alleged murder took place and not in the US. But since he is Gitmo, then the US must have seen him as an "Enemy combatant", and you can't "murder" the enemy in war by killing them in a fire fight. That's what war is about, people die. My point about the US's case on him is that either he is a civilian and has to be tried in Afganistan, not in the US, or he is an "Enemy combatant" and can't be charged with murder in the first place.
That's all ignoring the fact that all the US has on him was that he was at the fire fight, no prof he was the one who threw the grenade or that it could have just been friendly fire!
This is turning into to too much of rant, so I'm going to stop here, but please read up more on his story at CBC or even wikipedia .

Wow I haven't updated in forever. I really should use this for something other the reading other people's journals, but I can't think of anything worth while to post right now. When I do I will. *cue 4 years later*
I thought I should at least write something here, having nothing makes it look so boring. I haven't finished fixing my profile, or a layout/theme. Oh, and made this account over a year ago, but I didn't do anything with it.
I haven't been able to get the song Rico out of my head for days, I suppose listing to it doesn't help, but I love that song.
Everyone's gotta be something
Me I'm garbage
It's all I ever wanted to be
Shock me again and I'll say
Anything you want me to
Oh on unrelated note, Rhythmbox needs a repeat setting. lol
